Growth is essential. Even in this time of uncertainty we are all living in, it is important we find ways to grow. I am not talking about our expanding waistlines because we are forced to stay at home. I am talking about personal growth. We as women often put our own growth to the side, instead favoring watching our kids grow and mature. It is important, however, we give ourselves the time and permission to learn more about the world around us and ourselves.
What Are You Dreaming Of?
Before you starting having kids, what did you enjoy doing? What hobbies did you have? What were you dreaming of? We all grow up with dreams in our hearts. Whether those dreams change or not, we have an idea of the life we want to live. For many, it is righting the wrongs we felt happened during our childhood – not enough money, parents not paying attention to us, or something else. No matter what your dream is or was, have you been working toward it or did you let it fall to the wayside?
Take Action Toward Achievement
A dream is just a wish if you don’t act. I know you are tired. I know you think you don’t have time. I think, however, if it is important to you, you will take the time – even if it is just 15 minutes a day. Did you know you can write a book in just 15 minutes a day? It may take you more days, but the result will be the same. If you would dedicate a period of time each day to cultivating your dream, you could reach it even in the midst of motherhood.
Give Yourself Grace – Up to a Point
If you have a bad day and don’t fit in the time to cultivate, give yourself grace and try again tomorrow. It is important to note, however, this does not mean to give yourself permission to just never grow. Growth takes time and even a little bit of time regularly can add up to big things. Read books or listen to podcasts to nourish your soul and your dream building.
Now is your time. No matter where you are in that time, if you squander the time, you may look back and wish you had taken that time to cultivate your dream. For me, this means reading books to motivate and inspire me, as well as listening to podcasts from those in my niche. How are you going to cultivate this week? Leave me a comment and share with me!
