Learning to let go and let God have His way is not a natural thing for me or for many other people. During this time of pandemic, tornado, murder hornets, and everything else have made me realize I am completely NOT in control, but HE is. He orchestrates these happenings to bring us closer to Him. To remind us to share His love. To remind us of His love for us. When you are able to come to this realization, you realize it doesn’t matter if you are not in control. There is peace in knowing you are held by Him and you are taken care of.
God didn’t call us to worry. He didn’t say for us to worry and fret. He instead said to “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you” in 1 Peter 5:7. Anxiety and worry are closely related as worry often comes from the place of anxious thoughts and feelings. Anxiety over the future. Anxiety over what could happen. We have all been filled with these thoughts of worry and anxiousness. The world is a very unsure place right now and even though I have full and complete trust in Him, I have to remind myself that it is not my place to worry. He has it under control – completely.
Let Go and Let God
This poem really spoke to me, simply because I am that child who continually snatches back the broken pieces in me from Him who could heal me.
“As children bring their broken toys with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God, because He is my friend. But then instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help with ways that were my own. At last, I snatched them back again and cried, “How can you be so slow?” “My child,” He said, “What could I do? You never did let go!”
God means for us to bring our brokenness and our worries to Him, but if we snatch it back out of His hands, we do not allow Him to work. So my friend, just let go and let God take care of it. Lean into Him and His power, for we surely have no control or power. Give it to Him who does.
Broken hearts, broken dreams, and insecurity in what the future holds are all things God can take and make into something beautiful. Quit holding onto these things and give them over to Him. He is patiently waiting for you.
