I have been on a personal journey this summer to try to find my happy place. I have been in a period of flux with my kids growing older and going off to college and creating their own lives.

I have three children. My son is working full time and my oldest daughter will go back to college in August and move into an off campus apartment. I still have my youngest daughter at home, but she is about to start driving and will have an active social life I am sure. Emptying the nest has made me really think about what I want my life to look like when they have all moved out and started their lives. 

My happy place search, of course, started with God. I have not been very good about spending regular time with Him, but in the last 6 weeks or so, I have spent most mornings with Him for at least an hour. I have went through several Bible chapters and have finished up one book, Chase the Lion, which has changed my life. I like me with God. I like me better when I spend time with Him on a regular basis. It grounds me and sets me up for a really good day. I love it and am sorry that I never made it a priority before. 

I have also been learning more about my side hustle, freelance writing. I have been working with a great Christian marketing company and learning bunches, but I have also spent a lot of time reading articles and doing research about different facets of the business. I want writing to be a central part of my life. It is where my spirits soar and I feel the happiest. 

I have found joy in the little things. I have found my smile and my energy. I am excited about where I am and where I am going. I am almost 48 and I have found my happy place and it is a good place to be.
